BALQUHIDDER

A client recently converted an outbuilding into a writer's room, which boasts stunning panoramic views of the hills. The garden was very steep, but already terraced.

I enhanced the terracing in front of the new writing room and surrounded it with wild planting and native hedging. There is a pathway bordered by a pergola, where I planted rambling roses to create an immersive and wild experience, full of scent. This pathway leads to the client's vegetable patch and another intimate seating area surrounded by more planting. The client is very artistic and was inspired by a friend's garden full of surprises in every nook and cranny. Eager to emulate this enchanting garden, the planting for this project is ongoing and will feature fragrant plants and vibrant colours to delight the senses.
